China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA) issued the following memorandum to agencies on March 14, 2011 regarding single female applicants

CCAA Requirements for Adoption By Unmarried Persons
Starting from March 15, 2011 CCAA will accept
adoption applications from unmarried female persons according to the
requirements listed below.
(Special Focus children are somewhat harder to place. Children on the list are automatically classified as Special Focus if they have been on the list for more than one month)
2. The Applicant must be at least 30 years of age. If the applicant is over 50, the age difference between the applicant and the child must be no more than 45 years.
(For Example: a 51 year old applicant must adopt a child that is at least 6 years old; a 55 year old applicant must adopt a child that is at least 10 years old)
3. The applicant shall provide a civil status certificate.
4. Applicants must meet the general physical and mental requirements of an applicant couple
5. The family income must be above $10,000 USD and the family net worth must be above $100,000 USD
6. Applicants should be experienced in child care or be employed in a related field.
(Currently parenting, employed as a doctor, nurse, teacher, child care worker....)
7. The applicant must not have more than 2 children under 18 years living in their home. The youngest child must be at least 6 years old.
8. If the applicant has a stable live-in relationship with a male partner, the requirements for a couple apply
