China Program
Adoption Options has been assisting Manitoba families build their “forever families” from China since 2001. There are currently two programs that Adoption Options facilitates through China, The Regular Program and The Waiting Child Program.

U.S. Program
In January 2010 Adoption Options began working with and American Agency to facilitate adoptions through the United States. Adoption By Shepherd Care (ASC) has two offices located in Florida.
We are currenlty not accepting new applications for the US Adoption Program. (updated September 2011)

Adoption Options will provide you with support and services in such areas:
Education
Adoption Options provides a one-day education seminar for prospective adoptive parents. The seminar will walk you through the inter-country adoption process. You will learn about such important topics as transracial adoption, loss, attachment, country specific information, citizenship, travel, resources and post adoption parenting.
Homestudy
Manitoba law requires all prospective adoptive parents undergo a homestudy to determine your suitability, capability and willingness to parent a child. One of our adoption counsellors will conduct a series of personal interviews and complete this portion of your application. There are several requirements for the homestudy including criminal record checks, child abuse registry checks, medicals, references and in-person interveiws prior to being approved.
Dossier
Upon approval Adoption Options ensures that all requirements of China and ASC are met. Adoption Options notarizes all documents, forwards to the Province of Manitoba (Family Services) where the provincial adoption coordinator will review the dossier and issue a letter of recommendation from the Director of Family Services. The dossier is then forwared to ASC for adoptions from the United States or Family Outreach International (FOI) for adoptions from China.
Child Referral
Adoption Options receives and presents the Child Referal from China or the United States to prospective adoptive parents and assists in the process leading up to traveling to China or the United States.
Post Placement Reports
Adoption Options will ensure that inter-country requirements for post placement reports are fulfilled.
